Checking for and Removing Ticks
Checking your dog daily for ticks is important as ticks can carry potentially harmful diseases. You should check your dog daily if you take your dog to areas where ticks are active (woods and areas with tall grass). To check your dog, start at it’s head and run your fingers through the fur down to the tail. Use your fingers like a comb. Be sure to check the ears, underarms, groin and under the tail. Ticks like to find dark, moist areas to nest into. To remove a tick from your dog simply take a pair of tweezers or tick removal tool and carefully, but firmly, pull the head away from your dog’s body. To kill the tick simply place it in a few drops of rubbing alcohol. Click Here to See More Tips.
