Royal Canin MEDIUM Special 25 - A change of lifestyle or of diet in Medium-sized dogs can lead to digestive or skin sensitivity. A return to normal health requires a special diet.
The term "Medium" includes dogs weighing from 20 to 55 pounds at adulthood. Originally they were working dogs used for hunting, as sheep dogs or as sled dogs, but over the years they have become adapted to their modern life as pets. They now account for about 30% of births.
Historically medium-sized dogs were bred for their energy and their physical ability to work outdoors. Because of their morphology and their abilities, they can perform brief intense efforts while also being fast runners. Their courageous, enterprising nature and their very well-developed sense of smell make them much appreciated working dogs.
Antioxidant Vitamins E & C - Anticipate the Effects of Time and Aging. Dogs are exposed to cell oxidation due to free radicals produced by the body. This process increases in intensity with age, at the same time that natural defenses become less efficient. Medium Special 25™ combats the effects of aging by means of a reduced phosphorus content to preserve kidney function and higher contents of vitamins E (600 mg/kg) and C (300 mg/kg) and selenium for cell protection.
Healthy Skin & Shiny Coat - Protecting the Skin and Maintaining a Shiny Coat. A dog's coat reflects its state of health. Pollution, inadequate nutrition or poor health may produce irritation of the skin, itching and abnormal hair loss. An appropriate diet is necessary to ensure that your dog maintains healthy skin and a shiny hair coat. Medium Special 25™ nourishes the coat and protects the skin by means of sulfur-containing amino acids (methionine and cystine) for hair construction, omega 6 fatty acids especially derived from borage oil to maintain a glossy coat, zinc, folic acid and vitamins A & B for healthy skin.
Micro-Flora Balance - Strengthening Digestive Tolerance. Changes in their lives (alternating periods of activity and inactivity, staying indoors, unstable diet, etc.) may cause digestive upset in some dogs resulting in loose stools, frequent regurgitation, flatulence and poor nutrient absorption. Medium Special 25™ strengthens the digestive tolerance of sensitive dogs thanks to FOS that promotes a balanced intestinal flora and Rice as the only source of starch.
