General

The Innotek® Spray Commander® waterproof training system uses scientifically proven spray technology to train without pain! Perfect for puppies as well as full-grown dogs, the device releases a light burst of non-offensive spray that interrupts problem behaviors and redirects attention faster, while promoting a healthier emotional state. Three-button remote includes two levels of spray, plus tone option that can be used for positive reinforcement.

  • Three-button remote: Tone, Short Spray, Long Spray.
  • Range: up to 250'.
  • Waterproof Collar (keep spray device away from water when possible).
  • Collar adjusts up to 22" neck size.
  • Two 6-volt alkaline batteries included.
  • Spray is stain-free and hypo-allergenic.

Directions

 1. Remove the keeper from the black collar. Pass the black collar through the loops of the spray device. Put the keeper back on the collar. The curved edge of the keeper should face inward.
   2. Feed the free end of the collar into the slot of the buckle that is closest to the Multivet logo from the back to the front. Then, thread the free end of the collar through the outside slot from the front to the back. The free end should now hang on the outside, then thread the keeper.

Adjust the collar to fit like a regular collar. You should be able to easily pass two fingers between your dog's neck and the device. We suggest that you check the collar regularly to make sure that it is well adjusted.

Note: If these instructions are not properly followed, the buckle can easily be pulled of the collar. This could lead to the device being lost or damaged.

Your dog must get used to the device before you actually start using it. We suggest that you make your dog wear the spray device during 4 to 5 days before inserting the battery and filling the device. At the same time, we also suggest that you remove and put the collar back frequently on your dog.

Filling the device

   1. Set the device on a flat surface, with the fill-up valve turned upwards. Shake the spray can before using it.
   2. Hold the can upside down, then insert the aerosol tip in the fill-up valve - the deepest cavity - then press down firmly for 10 seconds. Release pressure and press down for another 10 seconds, then release.

Note: If spray is escaping as you attempt to fill the device increase the downward pressure on the refill can to get a better seal. You cannot overfill the device. When completely filled, there should be enough gas in your device for 18-23 sprays.

Inserting the battery

   1. Slide off the battery cover from the spray device and insert one 6-volt alkaline battery without forcing it, keeping the polarity in mind (+ and -). Slide the cover back on.
   2. Slide off the battery cover from the remote control and insert one 6-volt alkaline battery, respecting polarity (+ and -). Slide the cover back on.

The Spray Settings - The spray is used to interrupt the dog and redirect his attention. The more a dog seems absorbed by his activity, the longer the spray will have to be to stop and correct his behavior, and to redirect his attention.

No programming needed - The Spray Commander device and remote control are pre-programmed to make their use easer for you and your pet!

Adjust the device onto the dog's neck with the Spray Commander logo facing inward. Make sure the spray nozzle is pointing towards the dog's snout. Turn the device on.

Other

Do's and Don'ts

    * Go through the entire training DVD before using the Spray Commander to truly understand the product and how it can work for you and your pet.
    * Never inflict punishment, pain or cruelty on your pet - even if he refuses to listen. Have patience and follow the training tips provided.
    * Reward your pet when he listens and obeys your commands.
    * Never let the dog ignore a command he understands.
    * Do not use the spray when you want your dog to obey a command that he does not understand yet.
    * Never fill the device while your dog is wearing it because it may damage the fill-up valve.
    * Never fasten a leash to the Spray Commander collar.
    * To ensure that your dog does not make the connection between you and the Spray Commander, don't let him see you prepare the device, neither for the first try, nor for subsequent use. Keep your dog away while you prepare the device as well as when you fill it or change the battery.
    * Make sure the device is always ready to function, should the dog display undesirable behavior. We recommend that you check the device every day to make sure it contains enough spray.
    * Put the collar around the dog's neck at least 20 minutes before the training session begins so that the dog doesn't associate wearing the spray collar with the exercises.
    * Turn OFF the device while not in use.

Troubleshooting Guide:
If you have problems with your Spray Commander Remote Control System:

   1. Make sure that both the device (receiver collar) and the transmitter (remote) have the same ID number.
   2. Place a new battery into the receiver collar. Fill the device, then turn it on.
   3. Press button 1 on the remote control; the receiver collar should emit a beep.
   4. Press buttons 2 and 3; the receiver collar should release a small spray (button 2), and a large one (button 3). If nothing happens when pressing buttons 1, 2, or 3, there may be a problem with either the transmitter or the receiver circuits.
   5. If any of the 3 buttons produces a reaction in the receiver collar, then the transmitter is working.
   6. However, if no spray is released with buttons 2 and 3, but button 1 activates the sound signal, then the batteries could be low, or the device may not be filled properly. If all is fine in both cases, then there could be a problem with the spraying mechanism on the receiver collar.
   7. If both spray buttons work, but no sound signal can be heard when pressing button 1, then the piezo buzzer may be faulty.
   8. If the device doesn't seem to hold its contents, or gas can be heard leaking from the collar, please contact customer service:
